Our Business Unit Home Tech with its innovative solutions made of special glass and glass ceramic, is a leading global supplier in the home appliance- and consumer electronics industry. CERAN® glass-ceramic panels for cooktops are one of SCHOTT’s great success stories. Numerous processing technologies, materials, components and modules allow solutions for a wide range of applications – in the areas of cooking, baking, heating and also safety, which includes fire protection as well as cover- and ultra-thin glass for mobile devices and innovations in the area of diagnostics.

 

Our site in Grünenplan (between Hanover and Göttingen) is the SCHOTT competence center for thin glass production and modern coatings for a wide variety of applications. In Grünenplan, SCHOTT uses specially developed production processes to manufacture various types of glass and optical materials with thicknesses of up to 25 micrometers - currently the world's thinnest glass.


Currently, we are looking for an international Graduate for our Lean Management Department in Grünenplan as soon as possible.


Our international trainee program offers the ideal opportunity to start at SCHOTT. As part of the 18-month program, you will get to know the tasks in our Lean Management Department in a goal-oriented and comprehensive manner. This will prepare you for your later work at our location.
 

Your Tasks

  • Support the development and update of the Lean roadmap in close collaboration with the Plant Manager
  • Define appropriate and required Lean measures in cooperation with the management team
  • Manage improvement projects and KAIZEN workshops on the shopfloor
  • Track and monitor the impact of productivity projects
  • Refine our goalsetting process (Hoshin Kanri) together with the management team
  • Initiate lean activities according to the site’s Lean roadmap on all levels of the organization
  • Support the building of an improvement organization following the Toyota-Kata methodology and similar concepts
  • Support the coordination of the Six Sigma program in close collaboration with your team 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Industrial- / Mechanical-Engineering, Business Administration or related studies with an outstanding academic performance, preferably with specialization in production management
  • Practical and international experience e.g. via internships or at a semester abroad during your university education
  • Distinct identification with Lean methods is a plus
  • Teamplayer with distinct analytical and data focused problem solving skills 
  • Hands-on approach and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Strong command of German and English language (both verbal and written)
  • International mobility during the program is required
