SCHOTT Mainz is the headquarters of SCHOTT AG. Most of the business units are located here. They build the center of our innovations, our high development technology, and research activities. In the area of Research and Development at the site Mainz, we offer to the earliest possible date for at least 4 to 6 months a Master's Thesis or internship on the subject of atomistic simulation (m/f/d).

Your Tasks

  • Simulation of atomistic models using quantum mechanical simulations and molecular dynamic methods
  • Support other scientists in the development of new glass
  • Development of simulation workflows
  • Literature survey on related topics and latest technologies

Your Profile

  • Advanced Master studies in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or similar
  • Keen interest in material science and solid state physics
  • First experience with simulations and modelling required
  • Experience with python and linux systems is a plus
  • Fluent English or German skills
  • Good team and communication skills
  • Self-reliant and structured way of working
