Electromechanical Technician, 1st Shift

SCHOTT Electronic Packaging is a leading developer and manufacturer of hermetic housings and other components for the reliable, long-term protection of sensitive electronics. Our core technologies are glass-to-metal and ceramic-to-metal sealing, thermal sensing components as well as a variety of cutting edge specialty glass competences.

Your Tasks
  • Provide for corrective, preventative, predictive, safety and emergency repairs to electrical machinery and electronic equipment utilized in EP’s manufacturing processes.
  • Moves, assembles, installs, adjusts, repairs and services all standard production machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machine and system failures on a timely basis in a production environment. Provide appropriate corrective actions.
  • Calibrate electronic controllers and maintain accurate records.
  • Discover root cause of mechanical and electrical problems associated with equipment.
  • Assist Engineering personnel in conducting process and project evaluation and problem solving, must work in a team environment.
  • Assist in building and grounds maintenance when needed: snow shoveling, piping, painting and carpentry.
  • Troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment.
  • PLC repair and programing for production equipment.
Your Profile
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years’ additional education with computer and PLC repair and programing for production equipment.
  • 4 years’ experience in mechanical, electrical repair, and PLC repair and programing for production equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot facility wiring, motor controls, process equipment and general mechanical equipment maintenance.
  • Effective communication skills: listening, writing, speaking and oral presentations.
  • Ability and willingness to work with others on a team.
  • Demonstrable skills in PLC repair and programing.
  • Ability and willingness to work with others on a team.
  • Valid Drivers’ License.
  • Due to the nature of work performed at our facility, U.S. Person status is required.
