Application Technician

Tasks and responsibilities



In the field of machining, CNC machining, and polishing of glass and glass ceramics components:


  • Provides technical support for the clarification of specifications on request by sales representative, sales offices or Application Engineers
  • Supports Product Management and Business Development to finalize specifications and by providing specific and technical details
  • Contributes to define content of specifications („Pflichtenheft“)
  • Supports Product-/ Process-/ Technology development in the plant
  • Participates in projects on the basis of customer inquiries (new products, product changes, etc.) for new products and applications
  • Adapts materials or processes to customer demands (capacity, quantity, productivity and costs)
  • Provides technical support to solve complaints (in coordination with sales, quality assurance and customer)
  • Organizes the preparation of customer samples and prototypes (technical specifications, lead-time) in close cooperation with supply chain management
  • Drives sample analysis including benchmarking of products and technologies and supports other functions at design of experiments
  • Supports the implementation of lean management and provides ideas concerning the improvement of lean management processes.
Job requirements


  • Technical degree in mechanics, bachelor in engineering discipline or in science or equivalent
  • Excellent skills with AutoCAD 2D/3D, Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, MS Office, Project Management; basic knowledge QM, data analysis, SAP
  • At least 3 years of experience in the required field (not necessarily with glass) or equivalent skills through demonstrated experience/education
  • Good skills in organization, methodology, communication, teamwork, quality focus, being curiosity and motivated
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written
